Additional skills
Over nine years of experience in the media industry, and am no stranger to long hours. Have practical experience with social media, camera operation, digital video editing, production management, script writing and cinematography.
I have some experience with web design and software such as Google analytics, Word Press, Joomla and Umbraco. I also have a good knowledge of Final Cut Pro as well as Adobe Premiere Pro; and a strong knowledge of software such as Adobe Photoshop, Final Draft 7 and Fade In.

Experience
March 2007 - BBC Scotland
Assistant director
Was Assistant Director on ‘shellshock’ a play which was part of the BBC Jam project. I was also given the opportunity to do some camera work. In the two weeks we had to prepare, one of my tasks was to create and deliver workshops designed to help the cast develop their characters as best as possible in the short amount of time allotted, and to continue this process with the BBC Scotland crew.

October 2007-April 2008 - Life of Death
Writer/Director
Directed a short film, ‘The Life Of Death’ which I adapted from dialogue in the best selling novel ‘The Book Thief’ written by Markus Zusak. The project involved coordinating a minor stunt sequence as well as visual effects shots.
May 2008 - It’s My Shout
Camera operator/Production assistant
Was part of a small team collecting behind the scenes footage of the scheme, which spanned six 10-minute films and one 30-minute film. This role also involved the logistical challenge of arranging interviews with key cast and crew around the shooting schedule.

August 2008 - Reading Music Festival
Camera operator/Vision mixer
Worked for Picture Works as a camera operator, filming bands on the Festival Republic Stage at Reading festival. This involved using comms to co-ordinate with the vision mixer as well as taking on vision mixing duties.

November 2008 - John and Jehn: sister
Editor
Was asked to complete a series of promotional videos for the musical duo John and Jehn, including a music video for their song ‘Sister’. This required me to work to a very tight deadline as well as continue the editing style of a previous editor.

June 2010 – Nomadic Films
Office assistant
Spent two weeks on work experience which involved general running duties, video editing and graphic design.

July 2010 - International conference on contemporary cast iron art
Camera operator/Production assistant
Involved filming around blast furnaces as well as molten iron and so required additional safety procedures and good communication between the production crew as well as the event organisers.

January - August 2011 - University of Westminster
Media technician
Was tasked with making a series of promotional videos for the Universities department of sustainability and governance. This involved liaising with the head of department to develop what the videos would cover and how they would look. This also included working around the timetable of staff and students so it was possible to arrange interviews.


November 2014 – May 2015 – West Wales Chronicle      
Media Manager
I was in charge of the Geek In, Geek Out section of the online news site. This involved commissioning, editing and producing suitably written content for the website as well as maintaining social media output and tracking analytics.


February 2012 - 2017  
Freelance video production          
Since leaving University I have worked in a freelance capacity. Duties involved helping to outline any specifics of the brief, gathering footage for promotional use as well as filming events, and also being involved with the editing of footage.


November 2017 - December 2018  -  CBSA

Role involved: outlining and implementing social media strategy for the company as a whole and its individual projects as well as analysing data and metrics.Planning and producing video projects for both the company and its individual projects. Admin and data management.
